The role of a Carer can have a profound emotional impact on individuals. There is a need for support within a safe environment and an opportunity to acknowledge, express and explore deeper feelings to relieve stress and assist living positively.
The role of a Carer can have a profound emotional impact on individuals. Beechwood recognises the need to support Carers within a safe environment and offers Carers the opportunity to acknowledge, express and explore deeper feelings in a relaxed and comfortable environment.
A cancer diagnosis is not only distressing news to the person diagnosed, but for those around them too. Beechwood’s services are available to Carers, relatives and friends to help deal with the feelings and lifestyle changes that caring for a loved one with cancer often brings.
Supporting the health and wellbeing of Carers enables them to maintain a caring role, whilst providing the space to be heard and to recharge physical and emotional ‘reserves’. Carers also have access to many of Beechwood’s support groups and workshops, where there is the opportunity to meet other Carers in similar situations.
Carers are initially offered one-to-one sessions, with the option to explore a wider support package, including a range of complementary therapies to promote relaxation and replenish energy.
Unique and very special place full of truly special people and staff supporting those who need it during hard times in their lives…I was so inspired I agreed to be a Patron of this amazing charity.
