Moving on from cancer can be difficult to come to terms with. This group can help equip you with the toolkit to support your journey whilst also building a support network around you.

What to expect:

  • A four-week group for those with a diagnosis
  • An opportunity to meet others in a similar situation
  • Managing and discussing the challenges of a diagnosis
  • Techniques and strategies to help move on after diagnosis/treatment
  • Mutual support in a safe and supportive environment

Breast Cancer Support Group

A monthly, informal drop-in session with counsellor led talks and the chance to share experiences and information with other people diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

Topics we cover include

  • The emotional impact of a diagnosis
  • Managing fatigue
  • Guided relaxation and self-care
  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • Communication
  • Goal setting and journaling.

 

Prostate and Testicular Cancer Support Group

Bereavement Support Group

What to expect:

  • A six-week group for clients that have completed their bereavement counselling sessions
  • An opportunity to meet others in a similar situation
  • Managing and discussing the emotional impact of loss
  • Discussions around understanding the grieving process
  • Exploration of self care and coping strategies
  • Mutual support in a safe and supportive environment

Bereavement Café

Open to all bereaved Beechwood clients.

The Bereavement Café is a fortnightly drop-in ‘café’ style session from 10.30am – 12noon, for clients that have completed their bereavement counselling.

Each session includes a practitioner-led discussion around a changing theme to continue our support, followed by social time and the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation helping clients to form a support network beyond Beechwood
