We offer a range of support groups for our clients and those close to them. No one should have to deal with illness and all it brings on their own, and with Beechwood no one has to.
Beechwood offers a blend of support services, including professional counselling, complementary therapies, discussion groups, and one-to-one support. We work with our clients to find what works best to support each individual. We have a range of different support groups to meet individual needs, and these groups are a great opportunity to connect with those having similar experiences.
The Living with Illness Group
This is one of our support groups aimed at those living with cancer or other serious health conditions. It may be struggling with symptoms of illness or side-effects of treatment, as well as other emotional impacts of a diagnosis. This support group helps individuals manage both physical and emotional aspects of living with ongoing conditions.
Having a safe space to talk helps individuals understand and express the often complex and difficult emotions they may be experiencing. Talking to someone in a one-to-one session or within a support group can help build overall wellbeing and resilience when it comes to their new normal in light of a diagnosis. By working together, we can prevent an escalation and safely work through emotions.
Somewhere to discuss all that illness brings
The Living with Illness Group covers a broad range of topics, from sharing experiences, guidance, advice and practical tips on moving forwards. This can also include diet and nutrition guidance through to managing relationships with family and friends.
If this support group sounds like it could be for you, please contact us for more information about how to get involved.
I had managed to use various self-help measures to reduce anxiety – mindfulness, exercise, yoga, talking to friends. My counsellor was excellent – giving me a safety net and encouraging me.
